Upgrading the main runway, constructing a stormwater drainage system, and establishing an aircraft arresting barrier system for military aircraft at Aswan International Airport
Scope of Work
- Construction of a cold-laid layer using the CIR technique on the main runway body and at intersection areas.
- Construction of a stabilized base layer using the FDR technique in the pavement sections.
- Resurfacing the main runway body and turning areas with asphalt pavement (binder + surface layers).
- Applying a 2-meter-wide surface treatment and protective layer to strengthen the runway surface.
- Re-marking and repainting the navigational signs on the main runway and connecting taxiways.
- Constructing a new turn pad area.
- Installing a polyester mesh in defective areas to connect new and old asphalt.
- Constructing chambers for military aircraft arresting barriers on the main runway in both directions.
