Upgrading of Main Runway 04R/22L, Maintenance of Taxiway A and Connectors, and Construction of Infrastructure and Rainwater Drainage System at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport
Scope of Work
- Construction of a 30 cm stabilized base course at the first and last 400 m of the runway, and 5 m wide shoulders along both sides
- Construction of a 45 cm base course in layers not exceeding 15 cm each
- Construction of a 7 cm binder course along the main runway body
- Asphalt resurfacing of the main runway body, new shoulders, and turn pads with a 6 cm surface course
- Application of a surface treatment/protection layer for strengthening the entire runway and connectors
- Milling with a uniform depth of 5 cm
- Laying a 7 cm binder course in the required areas
- Crack treatment after milling works
- Installation of polyester geogrid in defective zones
- Construction of concrete culverts beneath the runway, including inspection chambers
- Re-marking and painting of aviation markings for Taxiway Alpha and connectors
- Application of a strengthening/protection surface layer for Taxiway Alpha
- Milling works for the connectors between the runways
- Installation of polyester geogrid
- Asphalt resurfacing of all milled areas
- Re-marking and painting of airfield markings for Taxiway Alpha and connectors
- Application of a surface strengthening/protection layer for the entire Taxiway area
- Construction of concrete culverts beneath the connectors between the runways
- Construction of a complete stormwater drainage system
- Construction and implementation of an open channel with a grating cover.
